The Ksport Supercomp Big Brake Kit offers the ultimate in stopping power, integrating new brake technology to significantly reduce brake fade and continuously cool the brake pads. The extreme lightweight SuperComp caliper is forged from aircraft-quality billet aluminum and features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons. It includes aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM designs, while stainless-steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. For enhanced performance, the SuperComp series calipers utilize four brake pads per caliper. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, which reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. The floating disc design prevents thermal stresses from extreme heat from warping the disc or cupping the braking surface. Ksport's unique rotor slot design minimizes braking noise and expels gas and pad debris more effectively than conventional designs. All rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. Cross-drilled rotors are recommended for daily-driven vehicles as they tend to run cooler, while slotted rotors are recommended for track use. Standard kits come with Ksport SC5 Street Pads, with an option for RC5 Race Pads, which are carbon metallic and designed for extreme track conditions. This specific kit is designed for the MINI Cooper Hatchback R50/R53 models from 2002-2006, including Base, JCW GP, and S submodels with the 1.6L or 1.6L Supercharged engine. The rotors are available in either cross-drilled or slotted designs, with cross-drilled being recommended for daily use and slotted for track applications. The caliper color can be customized from a range of options including Ksport Orange, Race Red, Caution Yellow, Jet Black, Bold Blue, and premium finishes like Lightning Silver, High Silver Polish, High Gold Polish, Titanium, Glassy Green, Glassy Blue, Glassy Orange, Glassy Red, Glassy Black, and Hard Anodized Black (some with additional charges). Center bell upgrades and pad types (Street or Race) are also available. All Ksport big brake kits come with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturer defects.
