The Supercomp series calipers are extremely lightweight, weighing just over 5 lbs each, and feature a one-piece construction with a differential bore configuration. They are CNC machined from aircraft-quality billet and include machined protection grooves for the bridge tubes. Standard features across all calipers include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston caliper design is crucial for improving pad wear and enhancing caliper rigidity compared to OEM designs. Additionally, the use of stainless-steel brake lines prevents fluid expansion under pressure, ensuring consistent braking performance. Ksport employs a 2-piece disc assembly for its big brake kits, which effectively reduces both rotating and unsprung weight. For applications experiencing extreme heat, a floating disc option is available to mitigate thermal stresses that can lead to warping or cupping of the braking surface. The rotors feature a unique slot design that not only reduces braking noise but also more rapidly expels gas and pad debris than conventional slot designs. Every rotor undergoes heat treatment and balancing prior to shipment to guarantee the best possible performance. For daily driven vehicles, cross-drilled rotors are recommended for their superior cooling capabilities. Conversely, slotted rotors are the preferred choice for vehicles that will be subjected to more track use than daily driving.
