This system integrates advanced brake technology for an easy installation process, often requiring minimal tools. The SuperComp caliper is an extreme lightweight component, machined from aircraft-quality billet. It features a differential bore configuration with larger pistons compared to Ksport's ProComp calipers, and includes protection grooves for bridge tubes. Standard features include aluminum pistons, high-temperature seals, and stainless steel brake pad wear plates. The opposed piston design enhances pad wear and caliper rigidity over OEM components, while stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure. The kit includes a 2-piece floating disc assembly, designed to reduce rotating and unsprung weight. This floating design also mitigates thermal stresses that can cause warping or cupping of the braking surface. The unique slot design on the rotor contributes to reduced braking noise and more efficient expulsion of gas and pad debris. Rotors are heat-treated and balanced for optimal performance. For vehicles seeing more track use than daily driving, slotted rotors are recommended, while cross-drilled rotors are suggested for daily-driven vehicles. This specific kit, BKSB010-951SO, is designed for the 1998-2002 Subaru Forester 2WD models. It is noted that Ksport Big Brake kits generally fit 2WD vehicles only, unless otherwise specified.
