Overview

The Girodisc 2-piece floating rotor is a direct replacement for OE brake discs, requiring no modifications and bolting directly to the car to work with OE calipers.

Constructed with a 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum hat and cast iron disc, this rotor features a curved vane design for enhanced cooling. It utilizes a floating mount system with high-strength alloy steel drive pins for durability and corrosion resistance.

The floating mount system also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads, reducing noise and improving braking performance.

The Girodisc 2-piece floating rotor is engineered as a direct replacement for your vehicle's original equipment brake discs, meaning no modifications are necessary for installation. It features a curved vane design that acts as a centrifugal pump, actively forcing cooling air through the disc to manage heat effectively during demanding driving conditions. The rotor and hat assembly employ a floating mount system. This system uses 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured to Girodisc's specifications and cadmium plated for superior corrosion resistance. These pins manage braking loads while allowing for axial and radial float between the hat and the disc, which enables the rotor to self-center between the pads and minimize noise. Anti-noise spring washers are incorporated to eliminate rattling and noise when the rotors are cold, allowing for heat expansion without issue. This Girodisc rotor reduces rotational and unsprung weight, contributing to quicker acceleration and more responsive suspension. It is recommended for performance street use, track events, or track-only applications, offering a significant performance upgrade over stock components.
