.2 Water/Methanol Injection System

The Aquamist HFS4-v3.2 is a state-of-the-art water/methanol injection system engineered for direct injection (DI) engines, representing the most advanced PWM system to date. It utilizes a Fast Acting Valve (FAV) that modulates delivery based on a PWM signal from the controller, achieving superior linearity and atomization across the entire injection range. The system maintains a constant 160 psi line pressure via an Aquatec pump operating in by-pass mode, similar to conventional fuel injection systems, which allows for a wide dynamic range and responsive performance. This advanced system offers enhanced integration with DI engines. It includes an additional AUX input (0-5V) that enables flow adjustment based on external signals such as air temperature, exhaust temperature, or air-fuel ratio. If any of these signals exceed a pre-set level, the fail-safe system is triggered to protect the engine, in addition to the standard turbine flow sensor-based fail-safe. The HFS4-v3.2 supports all DI engines under the "universal" option, though specific vehicle model integrations are available. For applications requiring over 1000hp, a 3000cc/min pump option is available, which includes a 1600cc FAV and a large flow sensor tube. Optional PTFE (4mm) tubing is recommended for combating engine compartment heat, especially for track or rally events, and is ideal for direct port applications where heat is a concern. Choosing the correct water/methanol flow for your application depends on the mixture and target performance, with guidelines provided for 100% water, M50/W50 blends, and 100% methanol. Selecting the appropriate jet size is crucial and should be based on the "true" pressure (pump pressure minus boost pressure), with recommendations to select the next size up or allow 10-15% extra headroom. For direct port applications, the flow should be divided among multiple jets, with an additional, larger jet recommended for IAT cooling.
