2000i PC Programmable Electronic Ignition Kit

The Dynatek 2000i PC Programmable Electronic Ignition Kit is engineered to replace the factory ignition module and sensor on 1970-1999 Harley-Davidson EVO motors. It is not compatible with fuel-injected models. This self-contained unit installs entirely within the engine's cone, under the cam cover, for a clean, custom look. The ignition supports single-fire operation down to zero RPM, facilitating easier cranking and kicking. It is versatile, capable of operating in all combinations of single-fire or dual-fire modes, and can be used with single or dual plug heads when paired with appropriate coils. The kit includes ten advance curves suitable for various engine builds and riding styles, and provides engine over-rev protection adjustable from 6000 to 7500 RPM. It also features adjustable timing retard for nitrous and turbo applications. Advanced features include a built-in tach driver for activating shift lights or auto-shifters, and data recording capabilities that track total engine hours, time at wide open throttle, number of engine starts, and maximum RPM. The module incorporates intelligent over-current/short-circuit protection and active dwell control, which adjusts coil current to maintain peak spark energy while reducing coil stress. Its high-efficiency design minimizes battery draw, aiding in cold weather starting and reducing the load on the charging system. The harness is constructed from durable TXL cross-linked polyethylene automotive wire with a high-temperature glass braid jacket for resistance to abrasion, heat, and chemicals. Installation notes indicate that kick-start models may require reprogramming the dead revs to zero using Dynatek part # DIPK-1. The use of an S&S Ignition Rotor is recommended. For proper operation, appropriate coils, such as the Dynatek 3 Ohm Dual Fire Coil or Twin Fire II Single Fire Miniature 3 Ohm Coil, must be purchased separately. The unit cannot be damaged by broken or disconnected spark plug wires.
