22" Bar and Plate Front Mount Intercooler

The ARM Motorsports Front Mount Intercooler (FMIC) is engineered to significantly reduce intake air temperatures for MK7 GTI and R models. This upgrade positions the intercooler in front of the radiator stack for optimal cooling of the Gen 3 EA888 engine. The core measures 22 x 9 x 3.25 inches, providing a total volume of 644 cubic inches, and features ultra-dense fin packs with 20 fins per inch. This design is rated to support up to 575hp and achieves a 74% increase in cooling efficiency, outperforming larger stock-location intercoolers. Installation is a 100% bolt-on process, requiring no cutting or drilling. The kit includes the FMIC core, piping, mounting brackets, and necessary hardware for relocating the ambient temperature sensor. It is noted that the ARM MK7 FMIC does NOT fit vehicles with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) mounted in the lower bumper, but it WILL fit vehicles with ACC mounted into the VW emblem. For MK7 GLI models, the lower crash bar must be removed for proper fitment. This intercooler upgrade is essential for performance-oriented MK7 vehicles, especially when running tunes above a basic stage 1 map. By keeping intake air temperatures (IAT) lower, it prevents the ECU from reducing timing and limiting power output, thus allowing the engine to perform more efficiently and produce maximum power.
