The Texas Speed Madd Maxx is a maximum effort low-lift camshaft engineered to maximize power-per-dollar for GM LS-series engines, including 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, and 6.0L platforms equipped with cathedral port heads. This performance camshaft is optimized for engines with a compression ratio of 9.5:1 or higher and delivers a substantial increase in output while maintaining good streetability when properly tuned. The camshaft utilizes a 228/232 duration with .550"/.550" lift at 110+5 lobe separation, designed to perform efficiently within an 1800-6500 RPM range. To ensure proper operation, this cam requires the use of GM LS6 valve springs. Installation necessitates an aftermarket stall converter of at least 2800 RPM and an upgraded rear gear of 3.23 or higher to achieve optimal performance characteristics.
