The Autotech 228mm lightweight steel flywheel is engineered to significantly reduce engine rotational mass, allowing for much faster revving. This CNC-machined flywheel is constructed from high-strength steel blanks, resulting in a unit weighing under 10 pounds, a substantial improvement over heavier stock flywheels common in VW's G60, 12V VR6, and Mk4 1.8T models. For G60 and 12V VR6 applications, this flywheel kit includes all necessary hardware, such as new dowel pins, pressure plate bolts, and flywheel bolts. However, for the Mk4 1.8T models, which originally feature a 220mm clutch and a dual-mass flywheel system, this 228mm Autotech flywheel necessitates an upgrade to a 228mm clutch. The 1.8T kit also includes a new starter ring gear, as the original is not compatible for transfer. This Autotech flywheel is specifically designed to fit Volkswagen models including the Corrado VR6 12v, Golf III VR6 12v, Golf IV VR6 12v, Jetta III VR6 12v, and Jetta IV VR6 12v. It is crucial to use the vehicle selector to confirm exact fitment for your specific vehicle.
