Description

The Texas Speed 228R camshaft is a popular choice for 1997-2013 LS-based GM engines, including 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, and 6.2L configurations, seeking improved power delivery without sacrificing daily driving characteristics. Featuring a 228/228 duration, .600/.600 lift, and a 112LSA, this 3-bolt pattern cam is a proven performer that offers significant performance improvements over factory profiles. Optimal performance requires a 3200+ stall converter for automatic vehicles and a compression ratio of 10.1:1 or higher. Professional tuning is mandatory for both automatic and manual applications to ensure proper operation. We strongly recommend using Pac 1219 or TSP Double .660 valve springs with this setup. Specific engine configurations require additional components for proper compatibility: engines equipped with DOD/AFM require a deletion kit, and VVT engines require a VVT delete kit. If your engine is currently equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit is required for installation.
