The Texas Speed 233/239 camshaft is designed for enthusiasts looking to increase the performance of 5.7L and 6.0L LS-based engines. Dyno testing indicates potential gains of 50-55+ rear-wheel horsepower. It operates effectively within a 2000-7000 RPM range and is compatible with stock, untouched cylinder heads, though measuring for clearance during any camshaft installation is recommended as a standard safety practice. To ensure reliable operation, this camshaft requires specific supporting components. Users must install either Pac 1219x or TSP double .660 valve springs. Automatic transmission vehicles require an aftermarket stall converter rated at 3200+ RPM, and an upgraded rear gear ratio of 3.23 or higher is recommended for optimal performance. Professional tuning is mandatory for both automatic and manual applications to ensure proper street-able drivability. The cam requires a compression ratio of 10.1:1 or higher. This component is not legal for sale or use in the state of California.
