2401 Assembled Cylinder Head

The AFR 2401 is a performance cylinder head specifically engineered for 1964-1992 Small Block Mopar LA engines (318, 340, and 360cid). This assembled cylinder head boasts 175cc intake ports and a 62cc combustion chamber volume, featuring an As Cast surface finish on both intake and exhaust runners for optimized airflow. The aluminum construction and enhanced water jacket design contribute to superior cooling performance in critical areas. Key specifications include a 18° valve angle, 2.250" x 1.150" intake port dimensions, and 1.750" H x 1.250" W exhaust port dimensions. The head utilizes a perimeter bolt valve cover pattern and accommodates 14mm x .750" spark plugs with a gasket seat. It is sold individually, with two heads required per engine. This cylinder head is recommended for upgrading from factory iron components and offers excellent value. It comes fully assembled with premium components, including Melling Racing Springs rated for 140 lbs on the seat and .600" maximum lift, suitable for RPMs up to 6300-6500. It also includes 7° Chrome Moly Retainers, 7° Bead Lock Valve Keepers, 8mm Viton Valve Seals, and Hardened Valve Spring OD Locators. Recommended supporting components include Felpro 1213 intake port gaskets and Felpro 1413 exhaust port gaskets. Important note: do not use the AFR gasket as a template for port matching, as one gasket fits multiple AFR runner volumes. For head gaskets, Felpro 521 SD or Felpro 1008 are suggested for 318-360cid engines, and ARP 144-3601 head bolt kits are recommended. An Edelbrock 2176 Dual Plane manifold is also suggested.
