Overview

The AFR 245cc Competition Eliminator SBC cylinder heads are designed for max effort applications and larger displacement engines. These heads feature 100% CNC ported intake, exhaust, and chambers, utilizing A356 aluminum castings. They are AFR's largest 60/40 valve spacing head, known as NPP (no pushrod pinch).

The AFR 245cc Competition Eliminator SBC cylinder heads represent the pinnacle of AFR's 23° SBC head technology, engineered for max effort applications and larger displacement engines (427+ ci). Designed with NPP (no pushrod pinch) technology, these heads offer an enlarged and widened pushrod pinch area, allowing for a more direct intake port path and consistent cross-sectional area. This configuration requires shaft mount rocker arms and has extra machining for 3/8" pushrod clearance, as they will not accept stud mount style rockers. The heads come standard with a 3/4 inch deck, 2.125" intake valves, and 1.600" exhaust valves. Note that the 2.125" valves will require aftermarket pistons to be notched for adequate valve clearance. Included components in the basic package feature 8mm bead lock intake and exhaust valves, PAC Racing 1.550" OD solid roller dual valve springs rated for 250 lbs on the seat and .800" maximum lift, 10° titanium retainers, and bronze valve guides. The exhaust ports are raised .250" over a standard GM L-98 cylinder head. These heads are non-emissions compliant and require shaft mount rocker arms. Available combustion chamber sizes are 70cc or 80cc.
