Hornblasters train horn kits are complete systems for adding loud train horns to any 12V vehicle. Each kit typically includes a high-performance horn (such as the Shocker XL or Nathan AirChime K5), an air tank, air compressor, air line, pressure switch, PTC fittings, wiring, and mounting hardware. These systems are designed for high durability and are capable of producing sounds over 150 decibels, audible for 2-3 miles, significantly enhancing road safety. Installation is generally a DIY project, taking 3-5 hours on average, and all necessary components are provided. Maintenance involves regularly draining moisture from the air tank (1-2 times a month) and changing the air compressor's air filter every few months to ensure optimal performance. While train horns can be mounted in various orientations, avoiding positions that can trap moisture and debris is recommended, although the horns are built to withstand harsh conditions. For motorcycles, due to space limitations, electric horn options are often suggested.
