The Berk Technology downpipe is a performance exhaust upgrade crafted for enhanced power and flow. It features a full bellmouthed wastegate section for optimal wastegate flapper actuation and minimal backpressure on the turbine wheel. The integrated stainless steel braided and interlock lined flex section is engineered to prevent cracking issues common with 3SGTE downpipes, making it an innovative solution for the MR2. Constructed entirely from 304 stainless steel for both piping and flanges, this downpipe utilizes thick-walled 0.065" tubing for durability and performance. Its 3.00" diameter is explicitly stated to outflow and outperform any 2.5" downpipe, a claim supported by internal testing and competing manufacturers. The product includes a gasket, a 304 stainless downpipe support bracket, and necessary nuts and bolts for installation. It also comes with a wideband oxygen sensor bung and plug, compatible with most aftermarket WBO2 sensor kits. The black ceramic coating applied to this downpipe serves to retain exhaust energy (heat) within the pipe. This helps to improve turbo spool times and reduce heat transfer into the engine bay, further contributing to performance gains.
