Description

The IPD 87174-3.2 is a performance intake plenum specifically designed for the 2005-2006 Porsche Boxster S 3.2L (987 chassis). Featuring a revolutionary and patented "Y" design, this cast aluminum plenum replaces the factory plastic "T" style intake. This innovative design splits and channels intake air flow, reducing turbulence and increasing air velocity for considerable power gains across the entire RPM range, particularly in the midrange. The plenum's uniquely dimpled interior surfaces further optimize airflow characteristics. Performance gains can be felt throughout the power band, making the driving experience more visceral. To maximize its performance benefits and ensure proper function, the IPD 87174-3.2 plenum requires an upgrade to a 74mm throttle body, which is sold separately. Professional installation is also recommended for this component. This intake plenum is manufactured in the United States and is classified as a performance-quality part.
