3.5" Aluminum Driveshaft w/ 28-Spline Yoke

The Ford Performance M-4602-G is a one-piece aluminum driveshaft engineered for enhanced performance in select Mustang models. Constructed from durable 6061-RT62 aluminum, it measures 3.5 inches in diameter with a 0.114-inch wall thickness. This unit comes pre-assembled with a 28-spline yoke and heavy-duty 1330 U-joints, ready for installation. Replacing the factory steel driveshaft, this aluminum alternative significantly reduces rotational weight. This reduction can contribute to quicker acceleration, making it a popular upgrade for those looking to enhance their vehicle's performance, especially for drag strip applications where stock driveshafts can be a weak point. It is compatible with both 7.5-inch and 8.8-inch rear ends. The M-4602-G is designed to fit 1979-1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with T-5, SROD, C-4, or AOD transmissions, as well as 1979-1993 models with Tremec transmissions. It also fits 1994-2004 3.8L/3.9L V6 Mustangs equipped with a T-5 transmission. Installation is estimated to take approximately 2 hours and requires light to moderate mechanical skill. It is important to note that this specific driveshaft, M-4602-G, is discontinued and has been replaced by the M-4602-GA model, which features improved welds. Additionally, this driveshaft will not fit the 2003-2004 Cobra models with IRS.
