The Bosch 0280217803 is a 3.5-inch Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, also known as a Hot Film Meter (HFM), designed to measure the amount of air entering an engine. This 5-wire sensor is recognized for its larger housing diameter and is specifically cited as ideal for use in OBD-II E36 M3 and MZ3 vehicles manufactured between 1996 and 2000. While its original application was for Porsche 993 911 (non-Turbo) models, its fitment and tuning characteristics make it a suitable upgrade for compatible BMWs. It comes with a 12-month, unlimited mileage warranty.
