The James Barone Racing (JBR) Tru-3.5 Wide Path Full Aluminum Intake System is engineered for the 2006-2013 Mazdaspeed 3 and 6, offering a comprehensive upgrade. This intake system boasts a full 3.5-inch inside diameter billet aluminum MAF housing, precision-machined from 6061-T6 to tight tolerances. It features an integrated, factory-style air straightener that ensures an accurate MAF sensor signal without reducing the internal diameter, unlike honeycomb or blade-style straighteners. The lightweight housing (9.4oz) is designed to reduce heat soak and shed heat quickly, leading to lower intake temperatures and potentially more power. Included with the intake is a 3.75-inch JBR Dry-Flow air filter, capable of flowing 200% more air than the factory filter while offering superior engine protection. This filter utilizes depth loading for capturing fine particles down to <0.1 micron and a structural screen wire to enhance airflow. The synthetic filtering medium is washable and oil-free for long-term, trouble-free service, contributing to increased horsepower and torque. Installation is a simple bolt-on application, compatible with the stock battery box. However, it requires ECU relocation or the JBR Small Battery Box. The system utilizes the stock mounting location for the OEM Turbo, though this may vary with aftermarket GT Turbos.
