3.5-Inch Cold Air Intake System

The Integrated Engineering (IE) cold air intake system is engineered for MQB EA888 Gen 3 engines, featuring a 3.5-inch intake piping and a 5-inch air filter designed to optimize flow for tuned engines and hybrid or big turbo applications. It includes smooth, 3-ply silicone couplers for both stock and upgraded turbo inlets, as well as a stealth coolant line at no extra cost. The robust aluminum alloy heat shield channels high-pressure air from the front grill directly to the integrated velocity stack and air filter, effectively sealing out hot engine bay air for superior heat resistance. The built-in velocity stack, a motorsport-derived feature, efficiently channels airflow from the 5-inch filter to the intake piping with minimal turbulence. The system also boasts 50-state CARB legality, making it emissions compliant for worry-free testing across the USA with the included CARB EO sticker. Specific fitment exclusions apply: this intake does not fit Audi A3 engines equipped with a MAF sensor, commonly found in FWD models. For VW Arteon models, compatibility with the optional carbon fiber lid requires relocation of the washer filler neck, and the IE Turbo Inlet Pipe upgrade (sold separately) is also required. Additionally, some European models may have a front crash sensor that necessitates modification of the heat shield for proper fitment. Flow bench testing indicates a significant improvement, with up to a 67% increase in airflow over the stock system, particularly when paired with an upgraded IE turbo inlet pipe. This translates to noticeable power gains, with the manufacturer claiming up to 15 WHP and 13 ft-lbs of torque, with even greater potential on hybrid and large turbo setups.
