3-Inch Catback Exhaust System

The Flashark FLES08140 is a comprehensive catback exhaust system engineered to enhance the performance and sound of your Subaru Impreza WRX/STI (GD/GG Chassis, 2nd Gen) from 2002-2007. This all-in-one kit includes a high-flowing 3-inch (76mm) SUS-304 stainless steel catback exhaust, a 4.5-inch (114mm) muffler tip, and performance-oriented downpipe and up-pipe components. By replacing the restrictive factory catalytic converters, this system minimizes backpressure, allowing your EJ205 or EJ25 turbocharged engine to breathe more freely, resulting in improved horsepower and torque. Dyno testing indicates an increase of 10-20 horsepower and a significant boost in low-end torque, leading to stronger acceleration and faster turbo spool. The system is TIG-welded with CNC-machined flanges and mandrel bends to ensure smooth airflow and resistance against pressure and corrosion. Its straight-through design and precision-engineered muffler contribute to an aggressive, deep boxer rumble characteristic of the Subaru engine. However, due to the potential difficulty in removing aged factory components, professional installation by an experienced Subaru exhaust installer is strongly recommended. Installation instructions are not included. For turbocharged models (WRX and STI) with EJ205/EJ257 engines, it is a direct fit. It is not compatible with naturally aspirated models like the 2.5i. Wagon models may require minor modifications to exhaust hangers or tip length depending on the bumper trim. A professional Stage 2 tune is highly recommended after installing the downpipe and up-pipe to unlock full performance, ensure engine safety, and prevent check engine lights, as this setup functions similarly to a catless downpipe and is typically intended for off-road or track use. Please check local emissions laws before installation. When cleaning the polished tip, occasional gentle cleaning is sufficient to maintain its shine. For heat-treated blue tips, use only water and mild soap; avoid scrubbing or cleaning compounds which can damage the finish and void the warranty.
