Overview

The SpinTech 131398 is a cat-back exhaust system designed for 1998-2002 Camaro and Firebird models. It features a 3-inch mandrel-bent aluminized steel construction with 3-inch stainless steel tips.

The muffler's design is based on the second law of thermodynamics, using a patented spin sound trap to attenuate sound without sacrificing performance. Unlike friction or absorption mufflers, SpinTech's entropy mufflers offer high flow rates comparable to straight-through designs, with no packing to blow out and maximum sound attenuation at high velocities.

The SpinTech 131398 SC Series Cat-back Exhaust system is engineered for 1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird F-Body vehicles. This complete 3-inch mandrel-bent system is constructed from durable aluminized steel and features stylish 3-inch stainless steel tips. SpinTech's mufflers are inspired by NASA engineering, utilizing a patented spin sound trap that captures sound vibration energy and converts it into heat energy. This entropy-based design significantly reduces noise at high flow velocities without the performance compromises associated with traditional friction or absorption mufflers. The system maintains high flow rates approaching those of straight-through designs, without packing that can blow out, and offers superior sound attenuation. Developed initially for competition, this technology has now transitioned to the high-performance street market, offering enthusiasts an affordable way to enhance their vehicle's performance. The system is specifically designed for models equipped with the 5.7L LS1 engine and RWD transmission.
