The CTS Turbo test pipe is engineered as a direct replacement for the restrictive factory catalytic converter on B9 Audi A4, A5, Allroad, and Q5 vehicles equipped with 1.8T and 2.0T engines. Constructed from T304 stainless steel, this component features a fully TIG-welded design with smooth, 3-inch diameter mandrel-bent piping for improved exhaust flow and a more aggressive, throaty sound. The pipe incorporates a flare that transitions from nearly 4 inches to 3 inches, optimizing exhaust gas flow from the turbocharger. This upgrade is highlighted as a significant performance enhancement and one of the most cost-effective performance modifications available for B9 owners, contributing to substantial power gains. Installation requires proper tuning software to manage the inevitable Check Engine Light (CEL). CTS Turbo strongly recommends the use of Stage 2 software upgrades to complement this test pipe. For environmental considerations, the manufacturer suggests opting for a High Flow Cat alternative.
