The GrimmSpeed Boost Control Solenoid is engineered as a direct, plug-and-play replacement for the OEM boost solenoid on the 2002-2005 Subaru WRX, specifically for the EJ20 platform. A failing factory solenoid can lead to inconsistent boost levels, boost creep, or an inability to hold target pressure. This 3-port solenoid utilizes a design that allows for higher resolution boost control, providing tuners with the necessary hardware for safe and precise tuning with stable boost levels. The solenoid features a balanced valve capable of withstanding up to 120psi while maintaining a rapid response time. Installation is straightforward, connecting directly to the factory wiring and vacuum lines without requiring modifications or immediate retuning to restore correct operation. It requires tuning after installation to optimize performance. The GrimmSpeed unit is constructed with durable materials, including nickel-plated fittings and weatherproof terminal seals on the Subaru harness connectors. Mounting brackets are laser-cut and black zinc plated for corrosion resistance, featuring integrated PEM nuts for secure connections. The solenoid itself incorporates special seals to protect against moisture and high-temperature coils to maintain response times even under extreme heat.
