3-Port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid

The GrimmSpeed 3-Port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid (BCS) is engineered to revolutionize boost control for 2002-2005 Subaru WRX models. This upgraded solenoid provides significantly higher resolution boost control than the factory 2-port system, enabling tuners to achieve precise and stable boost levels across the entire power curve. The design aims to spool the turbo more quickly and maintain target boost more effectively. Constructed with durability in mind, the GrimmSpeed BCS features a balanced valve capable of withstanding up to 120psi without compromising response time. The solenoid utilizes MAC's pneumatic control expertise, incorporating proprietary GrimmSpeed features like special seals for moisture protection and high-temperature coils to ensure response times of 6 milliseconds or less, even in extreme engine bay temperatures. The nickel-plated fittings are robust and less prone to breakage than plastic alternatives. Installation is streamlined with model-specific brackets for a factory fit and finish, and the unit uses a Subaru wiring harness connector, eliminating the need for cutting or splicing OEM wires. Mounting brackets are laser-cut, black zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, and feature pressed-in PEM nuts for secure connections. The installation process is estimated to take around 15 minutes, supported by written and video guides. Upgrading to this 3-port solenoid does require tuning.
