The GrimmSpeed 3-Port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid is engineered to revolutionize boost control for turbo Subaru vehicles. Unlike stock 2-port solenoids, this 3-port unit enables extremely high-resolution boost management, giving tuners the hardware needed for safe and stable boost levels. Users can expect quicker turbo spool and tighter control over boost throughout the entire powerband. The solenoid features a balanced valve capable of withstanding up to 120psi without compromising response time, which is rated at 6 milliseconds or less. This plug-and-play design eliminates the need for splicing wires, making installation straightforward, often completed in as little as 15 minutes. The solenoid itself is manufactured by MAC, known for robust pneumatic control products, and features proprietary GrimmSpeed enhancements like special seals for moisture protection and high-temperature coils to maintain performance in extreme engine bay conditions. Construction details include laser-cut, black zinc-plated mounting brackets with pressed PEM nuts for secure connections. The 1/8" NPT nickel-plated fittings are installed with a 120psi thread sealant for a clean and durable setup. The Subaru harness connectors feature weatherproof terminal seals, expertly crimped for reliability. As with any upgrade to the boost control system, installing this 3-port solenoid requires a professional tune to ensure optimal and safe performance.
