The GrimmSpeed 3-Port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid (BCS) is engineered as the most complete and user-friendly upgrade for turbo Subarus, specifically designed for the 2002-2005 Subaru WRX. This BCS replaces the factory 2-port solenoid, offering significantly improved boost control resolution. It allows tuners to safely achieve and maintain solid boost levels across the entire power band, leading to quicker turbo spool and tighter control. The solenoid's balanced valve is rated to withstand up to 120psi without compromising response time. Installation is designed to be straightforward, with a 15-minute estimated time. The unit features a plug-and-play connection to the OEM harness, eliminating the need for splicing wires. GrimmSpeed includes model-specific mounting brackets for a factory fit and finish, and uses Subaru wiring harness connectors for a direct connection. The solenoid itself is manufactured by MAC, a leader in pneumatic control products, and incorporates proprietary GrimmSpeed features like special seals for moisture protection and high-temp coils for response times of 6 milliseconds or less, even in extreme heat. Nickel-plated fittings and laser-cut, black zinc-plated brackets with threaded PEM nuts contribute to a robust and corrosion-resistant installation. While this upgrade enables enhanced boost control, it requires custom tuning by a professional tuner. The product is intended for off-road use only.
