The Ford 5917-4060 is a high-performance forged piston set engineered for L6 Ford 6-cylinder 300 engines, specifically for a 4.060-inch bore. These pistons are crafted from premium aircraft-spec 2618 alloy, offering enhanced durability and performance characteristics. The -25cc dish top design contributes to optimized compression ratios, with specific figures provided for 65cc (9.57:1), 72cc (9:1), and 76cc (8.71:1) combustion chambers. Key features include a brushed piston crown, additional CNC milling for weight reduction in non-critical areas, and the patented “X Groove” skirt technology, which ensures superior cylinder and ring longevity. The use of thinner and shallower ring grooves maximizes ring seal and land strength, further contributing to engine reliability and performance. These pistons offer multiple configuration options, including different piston series (FX-1, FX-2, FX-3) and the choice of including or excluding a DSS Racing piston ring kit.
