Overview

The Schrick 304/296 Camshaft Set is designed for high-RPM performance in E46 M3, MZ3, and Z4M models with the S54 engine. These camshafts optimize intake and exhaust flow for increased top-end power.

Featuring a moderate lift, these cams offer 12.5mm of valve lift. They require the use of new Schrick rocker arms and proper valve clearances must be set and maintained. This set is made in Germany.

The Schrick 304/296 Camshaft Set is engineered to significantly boost top-end power in BMW S54 engines found in the E46 M3, MZ3, and Z4M. This specific set represents the medium-lift version of Schrick's race camshafts, offering 304° intake lobe duration and 296° exhaust lobe duration, with a valve lift of 12.5mm on both intake and exhaust. For optimal performance and longevity, the installation of new Schrick rocker arms is mandatory. Additionally, it is crucial to ensure that valve clearances are set correctly to 0.25mm (0.0098") and meticulously maintained after installation. The manufacturer also notes that users must ensure their new springs are not fully compressed with this valve lift, and that valve timing is shown in degrees of crankshaft rotation relative to Top Dead Center (TDC). These camshafts are made in Germany and are intended for off-road use, including racing and competition. The product comes with a Notice of Emissions Non-Compliance, stating it is for vehicles that will never be used, registered, or licensed for use on a public highway. It is not legal for installation or use in California or any state governed by CARB or EPA regulations on pollution-controlled motor vehicles. A professional tune, such as the Epic Motorsports S54 cam tune or Alpha-N tuning, is recommended to maximize the performance gains from these camshafts.
