The Cycle Electric CE-208 rectifying regulator is specifically designed to replace the OEM P/N 74523-94A on 1994-2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL motorcycles. Unlike traditional shunt-style regulators that dissipate excess current as heat, this rectifying regulator controls voltage by blocking current. This innovative design reduces stator current and heat buildup, leading to less strain on the electrical system and potentially freeing up a small amount of power. This smoother charging characteristic not only benefits the sensitive electronics in late-model motorcycles but also contributes to longer battery and stator lifespan.
