The Zimmerman Z-Coated brake disc rotor is a direct replacement for the front axle of select BMW vehicles. Manufactured in Germany, this high-carbon rotor measures 325x25mm and features an internally vented and slotted design for enhanced braking performance. The Z-Coat provides a zinc coating that prevents rust on the hub and ensures immediate functionality without the need for cleaning before installation. This coating also offers an improved visual appearance by eliminating unsightly rust on the hub surface. Brake rotors are a critical wear item, and signs of their deterioration include a noticeable lip around the edge, unusual surface wear marks, or vibrations felt during braking. It is recommended to replace brake pads and rotors simultaneously for optimal performance and safety. Installation Note: To preserve the protective coating, do not clean the rotor surface with brake cleaner prior to installation. The brake pads will properly bed in the friction surface during normal use.
