The calipers are constructed from a one-piece forged billet of aerospace-quality aluminum, offering exceptional strength and lightweight properties while resisting corrosion. They feature aluminum pistons protected by heavy-duty seals capable of handling racetrack temperatures, ensuring smooth and even brake pad wear. The opposed-piston design further contributes to consistent pad grip and wear on both sides of the rotor. Standard on each caliper are high-temperature seals, titanium brake pad retainer clips, and stainless-steel brake pad wear plates. The center sections are crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, reducing rotational mass for easier wheel stopping and quicker brake response. This two-piece design allows the outer rotor to expand and contract independently, reducing the risk of warping due to heat buildup. The center sections also act as effective heat sinks, dissipating heat away from the rotor. Included are D.O.T compliant stainless-steel braided brake lines, which prevent line expansion under pressure, leading to a quicker pedal response and a firmer pedal feel compared to stock rubber lines. The standard SC5 Street Pads offer optimal braking performance for street and occasional track use, with reduced dust and noise. An optional upgrade to RCI Race Pads is available for extreme track conditions. The kit is made to order, and customization options for caliper color and center bell upgrades are available. This kit is specifically designed for 2WD Porsche 996 C2 models from 1999-2004.
