35 Spline Alloy Axle Package

The Strange Engineering P3502 is a 35 spline alloy axle package engineered for optimal performance in both street and track environments. These axles are constructed from premium forged alloy steel, CNC precision-machined, and induction hardened to an Rc 58-62 hardness level to effectively resist bending loads. A key manufacturing advantage highlighted by Strange Engineering is performing all spline machine work prior to heat treatment, ensuring consistent heat treat depth and a stronger, more reliable axle. Many competitors perform this machining after heat treatment, which can result in a less robust product. Further enhancing strength and durability, the Strange axles feature a generous bearing area diameter of 1.563 inches. Stress concentration is minimized through a specially designed axle shoulder with an extra-large radius and an adaptive ring. Buyers can select from two types of axle bearings: Timken® Tapered Unit Bearings, ideal for side loading and high mileage applications, or Sealed Ball Bearings for lower friction. The package also includes a choice of press-in or screw-in wheel studs, with options for both standard and metric sizes, along with hardened washers for screw-in types. This axle package is compatible with various rear end applications, including Chevy 12-bolt, Dana 60, Ford 8.8, Ford 9-inch, Mopar 8.75-inch, and 1957-1964 Olds/Pontiac rear ends. Note that stock style 2.875″ I.D. Mopar housing ends require retainer plates, and all Chevy and Ford 8.8 applications necessitate replacement 3.150″ housing ends.
