3800 1.0 PCM

The ZZP 3800 1.0 PCM is a performance-tuned engine control module designed to unlock the full potential of your 3800 Series II and III engine. This unit features significant modifications including fueling and timing adjustments optimized for Wide Open Throttle (WOT) performance, along with the removal of the factory speed limiter. Key enhancements extend to the transmission, with increased line pressure and modified torque converter lockup tables aimed at improving longevity and eliminating hunting. The PCM also raises rev limiters to 6300 RPM (or higher with aftermarket cams) and increases shift points to 6000 RPM (or higher with aftermarket cams), with specific skip shift programming (3-1 and 4-2) to reduce lag. It also resolves part-throttle knock retard (KR) issues and adjusts torque abuse modes to eliminate launch bog. Further refinements include a fan turn-on temperature set at 185F, with a 90-second post-key-off fan activation for engines reaching 180F or greater. The MAF calibration is tailored to be year-specific for optimal performance. The ZZP 1.0 PCM also includes a correct VIN number programmed in if provided, and importantly, does not alter emissions. ZZPerformance offers this PCM with various core charge options depending on the vehicle's year and model, including specific provisions for 97-02 Camaro/Firebird V6, and notes that certain vehicles like '06+ Grand Prix and '08 V6 models have specific requirements or are not supported. Engine swaps using the Series II harness and PCM are supported, but drive-by-wire systems are not. For turbo-swapped vehicles, email remote tuning is the only option.
