3800 1.0 PCM

The ZZP 3800 1.0 PCM is a performance-tuned engine control module that offers a comprehensive package of requested features for 3800-powered vehicles. Shift points are also raised to 6000rpm (stock cam) or higher with aftermarket cams, and skip shifts are programmed for 3-1 and 4-2 transitions. The PCM eliminates lag by adjusting downshift tables and increases transmission line pressure. It also features a 185F fan turn-on temperature with a 90-second activation at key-off for engines 180 degrees or greater, year-specific MAF calibration, and adjusted PE engagement to reduce knock retard (KR). Part throttle KR issues are fixed, and torque abuse modes are modified to eliminate launch bog. Shift KR is remapped for modified vehicles, and torque converter lockup tables are adjusted to improve transmission life and prevent hunting. This PCM does not alter emissions and can be programmed with the correct VIN if provided in the notes. ZZPerformance ensures prompt service, fast turnaround, and dedicated customer support. Compatibility notes include specific instructions for certain Grand Prix models ('06+ and '06-'08 GXP/Monte Carlo/Impala SS V8 require in-person flashing), and Camaro/Firebird V6 models ('97-02 require sending in the stock core). Engine swaps using the Series II harness and PCM are supported, but drive-by-wire systems are not. Some models, like certain Intrigues and Grand Ams, may incur extra costs. For turbo-swapped vehicles, only email remote tuning is available. Note that electrical items are non-returnable. Certain configurations, like the '97-00 GTP, require the performance shift mode to be selected to fully enable ZZP's modifications, while other PCMs have these tables active by default. For 2001-2003 GTPs, light throttle shifts remain near stock for fuel economy, with modifications kicking in at 50% throttle and above; a Performance Shift button can be added for an extra fee. Remote tuning is set up for specific upgrades, and custom or uncommon modifications may require additional payment. The PCMs are not locked, and ZZP offers support for tuning changes. Cam files offer further raised rev limiters, higher shift points, and adjusted fueling for smoother idle. A CASE learn is recommended but often not mandatory, and ZZP offers free CASE learns in the Grand Rapids area. Returns for adjustments are accepted within 30 days, and core charge allowances can be extended based on installation issues. Different transmission tunes are available for stock, recently rebuilt, or high-mileage original transmissions (over 150k miles).
