3800 1.0 PCM

The ZZP 3800 1.0 PCM is a reprogrammed engine control unit offering numerous performance enhancements for 3800 engines. Key features include modified fueling and timing for optimal Wide Open Throttle (WOT) performance, removal of the speed limiter, and raised rev limiters (6300rpm stock cam, higher with aftermarket cams) and shift points (6000rpm stock cam, higher with aftermarket cams). The PCM also incorporates 3-1 and 4-2 skip shifts, alters downshift tables to reduce lag, and increases transmission line pressure for improved responsiveness. Further refinements include a 185F fan turn-on temperature and a 90-second fan operation after key-off (when coolant is 180 degrees or greater). MAF calibration is year-specific, and the unit adjusts PE engagement to reduce knock retard (KR) while fixing part-throttle KR issues. Torque abuse modes are modified to eliminate bogging at launch, and shift KR is remapped for modified vehicles. The PCM also includes modified torque converter lockup tables to enhance transmission life and prevent hunting, and a correct VIN number can be programmed in if provided. Importantly, this PCM does not alter emissions. The ZZP 1.0 PCM is compatible with a range of vehicles, with specific core charges and programming requirements depending on the model year and vehicle type. This includes options for 97-07 Grand Prix models, Camaro/Firebirds, and engine swap applications. It's important to note that '06-'08 Grand Prix GXP/Monte Carlo/Impala SS (V8) models require flashing at ZZP's facility due to a separate TCM. Additionally, 2008 V6 models are not supported, and certain Camaro/Firebird models require sending in the stock PCM core. Turbo-swapped vehicles are exclusively email remote tune. ZZP also specifies that electrical items are non-returnable and that for '96 and older cars, a '97 core is typically required.
