3800 Downpipe

The ZZP 3800 Downpipe is engineered to overcome the significant flow restrictions present in the stock exhaust system of 3800 V6 engines. The factory design includes double-walled tubing with an inner diameter just over two inches, a severely crushed "U-Bend" section for O2 sensor placement that further reduces volume, and a restrictive catalytic converter. This ZZP downpipe eliminates these choke points, promoting better exhaust gas velocity and flow. It utilizes interlock flex, also known as turbo flex, which is considered the best available option for boosted applications. This type of flex provides a flat, smooth surface for exhaust gases and withstands higher temperatures compared to single-wall or double-braided flex pipes, preventing airflow disruption and noise. For certain models, O2 sensor extensions may be required: a "Style B" extension for '04+ Grand Prix (Series III cars) and a "Style C" extension for 2008 Grand Prix. Factory torque specs should be used during installation. This downpipe is specifically designed for the 3800 V6 engine and is not compatible with LS4 V8 cars. It fits a range of GM vehicles including the 1997-08 Pontiac Grand Prix (Series II, Supercharged and Non-Supercharged), 2000-05 Monte Carlo (3800 3.8L only), 2000-05 Impala (3800 3.8L only), 1997-04 Regal (3800 3.8L only), and 1998-99 Intrigue (3800 3.8L only). The included high-flow catalytic converter is EPA certified, but it does not meet CARB compliance standards for certain states.
