3800 Equalizer Downpipe

The ZZP 3800 Equalizer Downpipe is engineered to resolve the issue of rasp in FWD 3800 engines, which often stems from the crossover pipe causing unequal exhaust pulses. By converting the stock unequal length exhaust to an equal length system, this product allows the 3800 engine to produce a more desirable sound. The kit includes the Equalizer Crossover, primary downpipe, a 2.5" v-band clamp, rear manifold block off plate, O2 bung plug, and all necessary installation hardware. However, it is not compatible with vehicles utilizing a stainless header package. Additionally, a TOG style downpipe, sold separately, is required to connect the ZZP Equalizer Downpipe to your existing catback exhaust system. A 3" 2-bolt exhaust gasket is also recommended for installation. Fitment is specific to certain models and years: Grand Prix (1997*-2007), Regal (1997-2004), Monte Carlo (2000-2005), Impala (2000-2005), and all Series II H-body cars with catback modification. *Note: 1997 Grand Prix models with 97' style ABS modules may experience clearance issues and require the ABS module to be removed for proper fitment. The Monte Carlo also does not fit '99 or older models due to ABS module clearance. Installation can be challenging due to tight clearances around the throttle body and other components, and patience is advised. ZZP offers an "B-Stock" option for those concerned with cosmetic imperfections, which functions identically to the standard version and includes the same 2-year warranty.
