Overview

Milodon Main Caps are aftermarket main caps designed to strengthen both factory 2-bolt and 4-bolt engine blocks. They feature increased cross-sectional strength and angled side bolts, which pull from the side walls of the block rather than the main web area. This design prevents "cap walk," which can lead to bearing damage and horsepower loss. The caps are CNC machined from high-strength ductile material, offering a balance of strength and flexibility to absorb shock loads and protect the crank and bearings. Only 0.030" of material removal is required for initial installation, allowing for cleanup on damaged blocks. The kit includes a drill bushing for installing the side bolts with a hand drill and tap. Align boring is typically the only additional machining needed if the main registers are square. Installation of Milodon main studs is highly recommended for maximum strength. Fits Big Block Chrysler engines.
