3Bond Drei Bond Silicone Sealant

The 3Bond Drei Bond 1209 is a high-performance, one-part cold-curing silicone sealant recommended by Porsche and BMW. Manufactured in Germany, this 30ml tube is designed for demanding automotive applications where high temperature resistance is crucial. This silicone sealant boasts exceptional heat resistance, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 200/250°C and even brief exposure to 300°C. Its permanently elastic nature ensures reliable performance in high-temperature ranges, coupled with very good ageing resistance and chemical resistance to common industrial media once cured. The sealant accelerates curing upon contact with moisture and oil, and offers immediate sealing upon application, allowing for full-load operation post-installation. Its applications are extensive, covering all surface and flange seals in engine, gearbox, axle, and drive systems. Specific uses include oil pans, intermediate flanges, water pumps, intake manifolds, oil pumps and covers, cylinder head bearing covers, timing cases, engine blocks, chain case covers, gearbox housings, oil filter holders, and differential/gearbox covers. The sealant provides high compressive strength, excellent tear resistance, and increased adhesion. Key physical properties include a pasty delivery form, colorless appearance, viscosity greater than 500,000 mPa.s, a density of approximately 1.09 g/ml, and a wide temperature range of -55° to 200/250°C. It has a skin formation time of approximately 10-15 minutes and exhibits an elongation at break greater than 300% with a Shore A hardness of approximately 45. The product is also noted for its low inherent odor in the cured state and its non-sagging properties.
