The 3M 55744 is a Scotch-Brite Match and Finish Combi Flap Brush designed for metal finishing and blending. It combines the cutting action of 3M coated abrasives with the finishing action of Scotch-Brite material in a single step. This brush features sharp-cutting aluminum oxide mineral and a spongy, open web of nonwoven nylon fibers that respond to surface irregularities.

The brush helps restore final finishes on fabricated metals like stainless, aluminum, and brass. It is often used as a final step after processes like welding, bending, or stamping to restore the metal's mill finish. The open web design allows swarf to escape, preventing clogging, and the fibers continually break down to reveal fresh abrasive mineral for consistent performance and long service life. The brush is available with 4-way keyway attachments for easy on/off attachment to compatible tools and is designed to minimize chatter risk when used at recommended RPMs.
