The J&L Oil Separator 3054P-B is a passenger-side oil separator specifically engineered for the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang. Constructed from solid billet aluminum with a black finish, this 3oz capacity separator features OEM-style quick connect PCV fittings for easy installation. The collected oil is then directed to an easily removable bottom for draining, while clean air is allowed to pass through. During engine operation, particularly in high-performance or forced-induction vehicles, crankcase pressure can push oil vapors into the intake system. These vapors can accumulate on critical components like blower rotors, intake valves, and intercooler fins, and can even dilute fuel, lowering its octane rating. The filtering process begins with a fine mesh stainless steel screen that captures oil vapors. Once heavy enough, these vapors fall through a 1/2 inch thick, 1/16th inch aluminum honeycomb filter, where they coalesce into larger droplets and collect in the bottom of the tank. This multi-stage filtration ensures that only clean air enters the intake manifold. The 3-ounce capacity is sufficient for 2,000-3,000 miles of service between draining. Please note that this oil separator kit is NOT CARB (California Air Resource Board) Exempt. It is not legal for sale or use in California or any other states adopting CA emission standards that require a CA Executive Order (EO) number.
