The Mahle Original 301-0140 is a set of performance piston rings designed for maximum power output. These rings utilize SAE 9254 high alloy steel and feature a High Velocity Oxygen Fueled Thermal Spray Coating (HV385). This coating improves ring face wear by over 50% without increasing cylinder bore wear, offering a balance of material strength and hardness for high-temperature, high-pressure, and minimal lubrication conditions. The HV385 coating provides overall strength and toughness comparable to heat treatments while remaining scuff-resistant to the cylinder wall.
