4.0L GEMS Long Block Engine

This engine undergoes a meticulous remanufacturing process that includes parallel-decking the block to the main bearing saddles for uniform compression and consistent idling. It features specially-designed flanged sleeves for a positive seal between cylinder liners and the engine head, preventing compression gas leaks or sleeve movement. The crankshaft is polished for a smooth finish, and a custom-manufactured, original-style cam bearing set is used to enhance lubrication at the front of the camshaft. To save on installation time and labor, this engine comes with precision-installed engine heads, a new rockershaft assembly, tappet assemblies, push rods, and single-use head bolts, all torqued to exacting specifications, eliminating the need for a valve job. Components included are new cam bearings, camshaft, timing chain and gears, rod bolts, single-use head bolts, piston rings, flanged sleeves, crossbolt seals, main seals, main bearings, rod bearings, freeze plugs, rockershaft assembly, tappet assemblies, and push rods. Remanufactured engine heads with new valves and springs are also pre-installed. This long block engine is compatible with Defender 90 1997, Range Rover 4.0 1995 - 1999, and Land Rover Discovery I 1996 - 1999 models. It specifically fits GEMS engine vehicles up to VIN # WA410841. Please note that the water pump and engine front cover are not included with this long block. The engine is backed by a 12-month, unlimited mileage warranty.
