The BDS 4.5-inch lift kit is a comprehensive upgrade for your 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 4WD, designed to enhance its stance, performance, and off-road capability. This system provides clearance for tires up to 33 inches and features BDS's proven high-clearance design, maximizing ground clearance and protecting vital components with heavy-duty skid plates. The front suspension incorporates full-length replacement strut shocks, robust 1/4-inch thick steel crossmembers with high arches, and multi-point differential relocation brackets to secure the front axle and optimize CV angles. Additional components like sway bar drops, bump stop extensions, brake line brackets, and CV spacers ensure a complete front suspension lift ready for demanding use. For the rear, BDS offers two distinct options to achieve the desired lift and leveling: a 3-inch cast iron block kit that replaces the factory block, designed for high strength and correct pinion angles, or a full Glide-Ride leaf spring setup. The leaf spring option eliminates the need for a lift block, reduces axle wrap, and provides a more controlled feel while maintaining factory payload ratings. The kit also includes new u-bolts and brake line brackets. Customers can select their preferred rear shock absorber from either the precision-tuned FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks, featuring an aluminum body and IFP monotube design for application-specific valving and performance, or the BDS NX2 Nitro Series shocks, which offer a nitrogen-charged twin-tube design with 10-stage velocity-sensitive valving for robust performance. The kit's fitment depends on the factory control arm type; vehicles equipped with Cast Steel control arms require a specific kit, while those with Aluminum or Stamped Steel control arms need a different configuration. It is crucial to verify your truck's control arm type before ordering. Important notes for installation include the requirement for frame bracket modification and differential modification to clear the electric power steering system. Factory 17-inch and 18-inch wheels may not be reinstalled due to tie rod end interference. For models utilizing the 3-inch rear block, an add-a-leaf (#111209) is recommended for a more level or tail-high stance on crew cab configurations. All-wheel drive models will require driveshaft modification.
