The Texas Speed 4.8L/5.3L Stage 3 Turbo Camshaft is a performance-oriented engine component designed for smaller displacement LS-based GM engines utilizing single or twin-turbocharger setups. Featuring a 218/224 duration and .600/.600 lift, this camshaft is engineered to improve high-RPM power while maintaining manageable street manners and a distinct idle lope.

This camshaft requires a 3000+ RPM torque converter to effectively spool the turbochargers on 5.3L and smaller displacement engines. It utilizes a 3-bolt camshaft pattern.

The Texas Speed 4.8L/5.3L Stage 3 Turbo Camshaft serves as an optimized upgrade for 1997-2013 LS-based GM engines, including LR4, LY2, L20, LM7, L59, LS4, LY5, LMG, LMF, LH6, LC9, and L33 variants. Specifically tailored for forced induction applications, it provides an increase in high-RPM power output and a more aggressive idle lope compared to the Stage 2 profile, while remaining suitable for street-driven vehicles. Technically, this camshaft features 218/224 duration and .600/.600 valve lift with a 113 LSA and a 3-bolt pattern. For optimal performance, it is recommended for use with a torque converter rated for 3000+ RPM to ensure the turbocharger reaches its peak efficiency range. Important installation considerations include necessary modifications for specific engine configurations. Engines originally equipped with Displacement on Demand (DOD) or Active Fuel Management (AFM) will require a full delete kit, and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) equipped engines require a VVT delete kit. Additionally, if the engine was originally equipped with a 1-bolt camshaft, a 3-bolt conversion kit must be installed for proper fitment. Depending on the chosen kit configuration, additional hardware such as dual .660" polished PAC springs, titanium retainers, and 7.400" Chromoly pushrods may be required.
