The Bosch 4 BAR MAP Manifold Pressure Sensor is a small probe sensor designed to measure air pressure and temperature within an engine's boost pipes. It is often referred to as a 'Thrust Sensor'.

This sensor is suitable for tuning VAG Group engines, allowing for higher boost pressures due to its 4 BAR rating, exceeding standard 3 or 2.5 BAR sensors. It is designed for 12mm MAP sensor holes and replaces Bosch part numbers 0 281 006 059 and 0 281 006 060, as well as VAG part numbers 03K906051 and 03K906051A.

The Bosch 4 BAR MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor, identified by part number 0281006059, is designed to measure air pressure within an engine's boost pipes and also gauge air temperature. This sensor is particularly valuable for tuning VAG Group engines, offering a higher 4 BAR pressure reading than standard 2.5 or 3 BAR sensors, which enables the safe use of increased boost pressures. This is a genuine Bosch small probe sensor, suitable for 12mm MAP sensor holes. It replaces various Bosch part numbers, including 0 281 006 059 and 0 281 006 060, as well as VAG part numbers like 03K906051 and 03K906051A. Note that incorrect replacement of this sensor may lead to engine damage, and fitting should only be undertaken on the recommendation of a tuning specialist. Some retailers indicate that this part may not fit all vehicles and advise verifying fitment manually. While it replaces several OEM part numbers associated with Audi and Volkswagen TDI models, explicit compatibility data may require further investigation or confirmation with a specialist.
