4-Channel High-Side Driver Module

The AMP EFI HSD-4 High Side Driver module provides a cost-effective solution for powering multiple solenoids with high-speed switching requirements. It offers four independent high-side drivers, specifically designed for applications where solenoids receive 12V power and their ground is tied to the body. This solid-state switching design is ideal for rapid operation, outperforming multiple traditional solid-state relays. This versatile module is compatible with popular engine and transmission control units such as MS3Pro, MicroSquirt, and MegaSquirt, utilizing their ground-triggered outputs to control the HSD-4's inputs. Each of the four channels can reliably handle up to 8 amps, making it suitable for a range of medium-current solenoids. The module's construction features epoxy potting, which significantly enhances its durability against vibration and environmental elements, ensuring reliable performance in demanding underhood conditions. Applications for the HSD-4 are diverse and include controlling solenoids for transmissions like the Toyota A340/A341 and Subaru W4A33 transaxles, as well as BMW Double VANOS variable valve timing systems. It is an excellent choice for any solenoid setup demanding fast, precise control where only a single 12V wire is available for the solenoid. The HSD-4 operates on a standard 12V DC power supply. For installation, all red power wires should be grouped and connected to a single switched 12V source protected by a fuse rated for the total current draw of all active outputs, up to a maximum of 30 amps. The module's inputs are triggered by a ground signal from the ECU or TCU, with specific output types listed for various MegaSquirt models to ensure proper integration.
