4-Link Coil-Over Rear Suspension System

The Control Freak Suspensions 4-Link Coil-Over Rear Suspension System is engineered to transform your 1979-1983 AMC Spirit into a high-performance vehicle. This advanced weld-in system is designed in-house using SolidWorks CAD and is intended to provide exceptional traction, stability, and overall handling control for both street and track use. It effectively eliminates wheel hop and manages rear body roll, while also increasing the torsional rigidity of the rear end for a more precise driving experience. Constructed from durable materials, the kit includes custom laser-cut and CNC-formed brackets, fully adjustable and powder-coated DOM seamless round tube trailing arms with TIG-welded CNC-machined threaded inserts for strength and adjustability. It also features double-adjustable, USA-made Viking coil-over shocks and high tensile steel springs, along with Chromoly adjustable rod-ends and forged adjustable bushing housings with performance polygraphite bushings. Grade 8 mounting hardware and powder-coated components are included for longevity and a clean appearance, all backed by a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty. Installation of this system requires welding to the inner frame rail and modifications to the exhaust system over the axle. The system is manufactured to order, with an approximate lead time of 4-6 weeks for production before shipping. It is compatible with various rear end differentials, including AMC Model 15/Dana 35, AMC Model 20, Ford 8.8”, Ford 9”, GM 12 Bolt, and GM 10 Bolt. You must specify your rear end housing when placing your order, as the rear end housing itself is not included with the kit. This system offers significant advantages over stock suspension components, including weight savings and increased strength. It also provides maximum wheel clearance, allowing for the use of mini-tubs to accommodate wider rear wheels and tires, and increases clearance for the exhaust system.
