Overview

This sophisticated bolt-on brake upgrade features larger calipers, rotors, and brake pads compared to the Procomp kit, along with increased pistons and standard full-floating rotors for better self-centering. All calipers are constructed from a solid billet of aircraft-grade aluminum for lightweight strength and corrosion resistance, featuring aluminum pistons for improved heat resistance and uncompromised operation.

This system includes replacement calipers, rotors, pads, and brake lines. It is designed for easy installation with minimal tools required and fits 17-inch wheels and above. The Ksport Big Brake kits are designed for 2WD vehicles only, unless otherwise stated.

Show original supplier description

Each caliper is precision-machined from a single billet of aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring exceptional strength, light weight, and resistance to corrosion. The opposed-piston caliper design enhances pad grip and promotes more even pad wear, while aluminum caliper pistons further contribute to heat management and lighter overall weight. This kit utilizes 2-piece rotors with an aluminum center to reduce rotational mass, leading to quicker braking response and shorter stopping distances. The 2-piece design also minimizes the risk of rotor warpage by allowing for less restricted expansion and contraction of the outer iron section. The outer rotor sections are made from high-carbon iron for reduced noise, vibration, and harshness, and are slotted to aid in heat, dust, and gas dissipation, making them ideal for track use. Heavy-duty caliper seals are incorporated for sustained high-temperature performance, and stainless steel brake lines prevent expansion under pressure, ensuring a faster pedal feel. The kit is specified for use with minimum wheel diameters of 432mm (17 inches) and features 330mm (13-inch) outside diameter, vented, slotted rotors. The included pads are street-type, and the caliper color is orange. This kit is specifically designed for the 2009-2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
